Pam and Scott Benson, From Strongsville Oh
My sister-in-law stayed in Lazy Bear Lodge last year and told us it was the best vacation they ever had. We had planned a Smoky Mountain trip this fall, and started looking at the cabins in spring. We both loved the look of Bear Necessities, and it was fabulous!! The cabin was so cozy and comfortable, and the view was wonderful. We stayed a week, (really a reasonable price!) hiked for 4 days and visited the Biltmore and did the Smoky Mountain railroad trip. There were also excellent places to eat nearby for the evenings we didn't cook in. It was a great place to stay. |

Oh how we loved Bear Pause. It was very spacious, the kitchen was incredible and the cabin's location was central to the area activities (like the train and zip line). It was nice to be secluded (but not too secluded), have some walking trails around, and the view was perfect. We watched the sun come up every morning while we rocked in the rockers having some coffee and watched the sunset from the swing on the front porch. The cows were just a bonus. My sister was able to get her technology fix thanks to the wireless network. We can not wait to come back next year! You've got us hooked now. |

Thanks so much for the perfect Christmas. We were looking for a real Smoky Mountain Christmas and that is just what we found at Lazy Bear Lodge. The Christmas decorations (inside and out)were the best surprise. The cabin was fully stocked and beautifully decorated. It went far beyond our expectations. We could not have asked for anything more! Our stay was topped off by an unexpected snow fall. Our "Florida" children got to experience snow for the first time. Everyone in our family enjoyed our time there, from the children to the older adults. We plan on coming back for summer!!!! |

Both Cathy and I feel that by far "Bear Trax" is the prettiest of all. Access to the cabin was easy with it being at top of mountain. The location was exactly what we both were looking for with Bryson City being a quaint town but close in proximity to the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I prefer the winter where Cathy likes the summer to do tubing, rafting and hiking. We saw snow two days and it was just gorgeous. The cabin was decorated beautifully with the Christmas tree inside and outside along with garland/lights draped on three sides of the cabin. The garland/lights on the back porch was so relaxing to just look at from the den. The hospitality shown while we were there indicates how dedicated and concerned the Williams' were in our having a wonderful stay. We appreciate them sharing such a beautiful, decorated, and well designed cabin and we have made reservations to return in July, 2006. A thank you goes out to the Williams'. |

My husband and I and two other couples vacationed at Bear's Den and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. There was an over abundance of room so that no one felt ontop of each other. Everything was very clean when we arrived and the spa was definitely a plus after a long day of activies. One of the best things about the cabin was the location. It is very near to a lot of the activities we did, such as whitewater rafting, tubing, fishing, horseback riding, and bingo. We will definitely be returning in the near future. |

The Bear's Den cabin was soooo amazing. It was quiet and tucked away, very comfortable inside and outside the cabin. After a 10 hour drive, it was great to soak in the hot tub. We had an amazing 3 year anniversary vacation. Thank you for letting us stay in great cabin. Being from New Jersey you tend to forget how beautiful nature really is, thanks for opening our eyes to that again. We are already planning for next year. |

Thank you for a wonderful 'home' for our family get together. The cabin was everything you said it would be. Very comfortable...we didn't want to leave! The location is great...close to tubing, white water rafting, hiking and biking! The hot tub was wonderful to come 'home' to at the end of our active days! |

Dear Bob & Tanya,
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time my husband & I , along with our friends, had staying at the Bear Trax cabin(Feb.10-Feb.13). The cabin is gorgeous with such a warm and cozy feel to it. The black bear decor was beautiful. As soon as we walked in for the first time, the view took all of our breaths away. I could never have imagined a view so amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. . We all went on this trip hoping and praying to see just a little bit of snow because none of us have seen it since we were little and our one friend has never seen snow. The morning following our first night there, we woke up to a wonderful surprise of a fluffy white blanket covering the ground and the trees. We had so much fun just goofing around having snowball fights and making snowmen. We even had a fun and adventurous hike down the backyard to check out the conditions of the roads. Who needs sleds? It's much more fun just to slide down on your butt. :) My favorite part was watching it snow while relaxing in the hot tub. Never in my wildest dreams would I have seen myself doing that. I'm so glad we came across your website and were able to find you. I'm positive you will be hearing from us again. Thank you again for providing us with a wonderful place for a much-needed getaway.
Sincerely,
Brandy Steffen

We had the most wonderful time. Lazy Bear was more beautiful than we could have ever expected, the view is breath taking, it snowed the second day we were there which was an extra special treat, if you are looking for a picture book dream vacation this cabin is the way to go, we will return for many years to come, to this little slice of heaven. |

I found Bear's Den online, had never been to Bryson City N.C. We met some friends from Jacksonville,N.C. The cabin was absolutely wonderful. We had waterwater rafting right by the cabin and alot of activities in the area. We fell in love with the bbq area, we grilled out every night. It was a wonderful stay...Thanks for such a great cabin... |

Ric and Ellie , From North Carolina
Coincidently, we were schedule to stay at Bear Necessities in July...we found the winter beauty delightful. The decorated Christmas tree and stockings and few other tasteful holiday decorations also added to the charm of this lovely cabin. It is apparent that you care about the enjoyment of vacation time of your guests, and you succeeded. The five of us were quite comfortable with the upper two floors of Bear's Den. |

After very thorough research, our stay at Bear Necessities turned out to exceed all of our expectations. The views were spectacular and I particularly enjoyed watching the fog pour into the valleys early in the mornings. The home was comfortable and inviting and provided memories that will last a very long time. |

Our stay at the Lazy Bear was like an escape to an slower, easier time.... the fireplace throwing warmth and a glow over the beautiful hand-peeled interior logs, sitting with a coffee on the porch looking out at the spectacular mountain views. We had a couple of rainy days, but even those were perfect... misty, cozy times spent together.
Every comfort and amenity was supplied as well... NBA playoffs on satellite were the icing on the cake for hubby!
We can't wait to return... DON'T CHANGE A THING!

We were all blown away when we walked through the front door at Bear Pause. From the layout, to the linens and to the silverware...we were very impressed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much. I personally will be returning with my family (hopefully for Christmas) I would love to get some snow. |

Carli & Bill Bergeson, From Lily Lake Illinois
We stayed in the Lazy Bear Cabin in September of 2008. I found this cabin while researching a trip my husband and I had planned for this year. The photos of Lazy Bear was what really attracted us to the cabin. It looked like a really cozy log cabin with a mountain overlook. Boy were we ever pleased when we arrived at Lazy Bear - the photo's did not do justice to the cabin. It was more than what we expected. Coffee on the deck overlooking the mountains, drinks at the same place after a full day of exploring the Smokey's, a nice soak in the hot tub and finish off the evening with a fire in the fire pit listening to the owls and other critters all around. We felt like we belonged here - we have passed the business card around to whoever listened and are trying to figure out when we can come back.
Loved this place - thanks so much for making it such a neat place to stay. |

Eric Harper, From Jacksonville, FL
Lazy Bear was incredible as was the scenery including all the snow that fell during our stay. If it snows a lot, the road to the cabin can be a challenge as I found out. Four wheel drive or not, our last day I couldn't make it all the way up as the road had turned to ice. The great thing was all it took was a phone call and Bob (owner) came out to assist. Thanks again Bob!! |

My friends and I had a wonderful time at the "Bears Den" cabin. It was not our first choice, though. We came at a time that was very rainy and the roads were washed out to the other cabin we rented (through other owners). The owner of this cabin was gracious enough to take us in last minute. This cabin might not be much to look at from the outside, but it is amazing!! Very cozy and comfortable. I am very glad things worked out the way that they did, we ended up in the better cabin.
Typically, my husband and I do not stay at the same vacation rental twice, but we might make an exception with this home.
This trip was to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. There were 6 of us in the home, and there was more than enough room.
I would definitely recommend this home to friends. Prior and during my stay I talked with the owner a handful of times, he was very helpful and very nice. I hope to be able to work with him again soon.
Thank you for opening your home to me and my friends. |

Thank you for the wonderful accomodations for our Smoky Mountain Spring Break getaway! The cabin was wonderful! It was nice for everyone to have their own room/bath. The beds were nicer than any hotel. The cabin was easy to find and had a wonderful view that provided some really nice pictures. The location is great with access to many activities. We recommend gem mining(especially Mason Mountain Mine and Mason's Ruby and Sapphire Mine in Franklin), Cherokee Helicopter rides and the beautiful trails and waterfalls at Deep Creek in Bryson City just to name a few. You're A+ in our book!! |
